'UNTITLED 04' BY CHUCK YOUNG
This one’s called, BUYING A BOOK AT THE MALL FOR A WOMAN THAT YOU MADE OUT WITH A COUPLE OF TIMES
When I was 22, I made out with a woman in her 50s.
We worked together and flirted hard on the regular for about a year.
The flirting was fun.
The making out was ok.
Her live-in boyfriend of 20+ years called our place of business once and I answered the phone.
After I handed it to her and she hung up, she said he asked who the schlong was who had answered.
She ended up finding out from my friend that I said it was like kissing my mom.
Or someone’s mom.
I think she was hurt.
When a person we both loved was murdered, we went to the mall together.
So I could buy her a book.
She brought me a coffee and I drank it on the ride.
It’s the only time I have ever drank a coffee.
Because I think coffee tastes fucking gross.
At the mall the fire alarm went off.
We took it as a sign.
Because that’s what you do after someone you love has just died.
